Local Area Agreements

A Local Area Agreement (LAA) is a three year agreement that sets out the priorities for a local area. It is outcome based and enables local authorities and their partners to deliver national outcomes in a way that reflects local priorities.

Cornwall's Local Area Agreement focuses on key strategic priorities, drawn from Cornwall's 20 year vision document, the Sustainable Community Strategy. The Local Area Agreement sets out measurable achievements in the form of an action plan for the 3 year period between April 2008 and March 2011. The Agreement has the backing of all major public sector organisations in Cornwall, together with key agencies from the voluntary and business sectors.
