What is the Cornwall Strategic Partnership

The Cornwall Strategic Partnership is a voluntary partnership which brings together the key public service providers in Cornwall with voluntary and business sector organisations. Their role is to act as the 'partnership of partnerships', working together to shape the future wellbeing of Cornwall and improve quality of life for local people.

The Partnership has 3 key roles;

They are responsible for creating the long term vision for Cornwall, expressed through the Sustainable Community Strategy. (Use the link opposite to find out more)

They oversee the associated 3 year action plan, the Local Area Agreement. (Use the link opposite to find out more)

They have a responsibility to involve communities and special interest groups in shaping Cornwall's future.

The structure and membership of the Cornwall Strategic Partnership was recently reviewed and in December 2008, a new constitution was adopted. This led to the Partnership having two operational forms; a wide consultative body consisting of the entire membership of the 8 key thematic partnerships in Cornwall, plus representatives from specific bodies and organisations, and a small Executive Board. The larger group will meet 2-3 times a year in the form of a conference. The first of these conferences was held on 18th March 2009. A new Partnership Support Team has been created within Cornwall Council to fully support the work of the Cornwall Strategic Partnership. Use the link opposite to view the structure of the new team. There are also officers in other Council directorates and colleagues from partner agencies who will work alongside the Partnership Support Team, bringing a wide range of skills and experience.
